Maxi-Matic EBK-200 Elite Cuisine 3-in-1 Breakfast Station 4-Cup Coffee Maker, White

Maxi-Matic EBK-200 Elite Cuisine 3-in-1 Breakfast Station 4-Cup Coffee Maker, White Review

Check Price Now!

This 3 in 1 Breakfast Machine contains a toaster oven, hot plate, and coffee maker. All the items are smaller than if you bought them separately, but if you are tight on space this is definitely handy.

The toaster oven was probably the biggest negative. It is only wide enough to fit 1 slice of break. Fortunately there is a top burner and a bottom burner so you can stack 2 pieces of bread on top of each other and flip them in the middle of cooking.

I cooked eggs in a basket on the hotplate and it cooked the egg in about 5 or 6 mins.

Pros:
Space Saving
Dial Timer 15 mins max
Can turn on/off top and bottom burner individually
Reusable Coffee Filter
Easy to clean removable hot plate
Comes with baking pan

Negatives:
All components pretty small, can't toast large items
Don't expect to cook for large parties, but if just cooking for yourself not bad.
Timer clicking down can get annoying

It works. - siempresuamor - Alabama, USA
Looks kinda cheap but it does everything it promises. It comes with a reusable filter that was too much trouble to clean so I bought some paper filters.

Bialetti 1-Cup Electric Mukka Express

Bialetti 1-Cup Electric Mukka Express Review

Check Price Now!

I received the Bialetti 1-Cup Electric Mukka Express Cappuccino Maker after a very disappointing experience with Krups latest item. Upon returning Krups for a full refund, I was pleasantly surprised by this small machine. What makes this machine so great is:
1-it is easy to use, just add water, espresso grounds, and milk (will even froth fat-free milk!)
2-plug in the base and push the button, then just go about your business as this little miracle brews and froths a tasty surprise for you (it takes 5-6 mintues)
3-easy to pour and wash. No small parts that will break or get lost and the parts seem to be VERY durable
4-the design is very handsome and easy to store on your counter top until next use since it is small thus not taking up much room

I would recommend this product to any casual coffee/cappuccino drinker who enjoys a tasty brew during the week and doesn't want to fork out money to trot to "4 Bucks"

just wanna HOT latte - walter j. wall - Bradenton, FL USA
I watched the instruction video, read the instructions, I followed step by step. I can follow directions, but this was a challenge. In about 15 tries, I had 3 successful cups. It seems simple enough, water to the mark, espresso in the basket, milk to the mark, close the lid, push the center button and press the on button. It leaked most of the time (coffee all over the counter) sometimes the red operating light wouldn't come on (no brewing), sometimes no froth, mostly luke warm latte. Cleaning: Wait an hour until you can seperate the top from the bottom (too hot to handle), bottom water portion started to corrode. I contacted customer service at Bialetti (the 30 day money back had expired). I sent the unit back to Bialetti and they sent a replacement but it was the stove top model, not the electric. Next step, send the stove top unit back and received the correct replacement 10 days later. Wait, there's more: first batch in new unit leaked, second batch not much froth and luke warm. I think I've had enough. I'm going to ask for my money back from Bialetti. Stay tuned.

Dissapointed in NYC - YZR - New York, NY
When I first bought this machine I was really excited. I owned the Bialetti stovetop version, which is very popular in Italy.

After TWO months of using this, my machine began to get moldy at the very bottom and the top. Basically, it started to oxidize. I hand wash this machine along with my stovetop, so I was following the directions without any issues. I finally called Bialetti and they suggested using baking soda with water, and then vinegar. Nothing helped and it started to smell.

I was told to send it back to them. After wasting shipping it to CA, the lady told me that I used a dishwasher and therefore was not qualified under warranty. I live in an old townhouse apartment, with no dishwasher. She then started to say that they don't cover oxidization. Buyer beware, I've only owned this for a few months and basically the warranty is useless! Aluminum + water + time = bound to happen to any machine.

Pros: Quick cappuccino, cheaper than some other versions, small, easier once you get the hang of it.

Cons: Hard to disassemble to wash (you're supposed to do it immediately to prevent oxidation, but that's hard considering the bottom is hot). It spills coffee if you don't assemble it correctly. You are supposed to use WATER ONLY. No soap. According to many reviews and Williams Sonoma representatives (who also sells this brand), the inside does eventually get black and can smell, so lots of maintenance required.

My advice is to get a milk frother. This machine seams cheaper than a cappuccino machine, but in reality you're throwing your money away.

Wow! - Panda - Seattle, WA
I own a very nice Krupps machine, but I was still spending .00 every morning for a cappuccino. Using the machine takes too much time, so when I saw an ad for the Electric Mukka Express I was excited. After reading many reviews, I bought one. It is absolutely wonderful! I prepare everything, except the milk, the night before. In the morning, I add the milk, press the Start button and go about my business. By the time I'm ready to jump in the shower, I have a perfect cappuccino.

I don't have time to clean the machine before I leave for work, so I add water to the upper part (where the milk goes)to help loosen the milk residue. When I get home in the evening, I take the machine apart and clean it. Clean-up is easy.

Black & Decker DCM18S Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mug

Black & Decker DCM18S Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mug Review

Check Price Now!

The first cup of coffee I brewed in this was AWFUL - grounds splattered everywhere, sediment in the cup, weak coffee... awful. The tenth was pretty bad, too. A few things I've figured out about making a good, strong cup of coffee in this machine:

1) Ditch the reusable filter. You can either buy #1 cone filters from Melitta (available on Amazon) or pick up the next size up in basket style from the grocery. Those look way too big, but the edges actually fold to fit nicely into the Brew N' Go. The #1 cones limit (but not badly) the amount of grounds you can use.
2) Grind your coffee as you would for a normal machine. This machine seems built to replicate the normal brewing process as much as possible, only in miniature. If you grind your beans too fine so that you can use fewer beans and avoid spill-overs, you'll get a weak and over-extracted cup, just as you would in a normal machine. Using a paper filter will avoid spill-overs and allow you to grind the beans normally.
3) Be generous with the grind. I like a strong cup, and about 3 level tablespoons gets one out of this machine.
4) Fill the water reservoir at least to the line, maybe even a bit over, and use a tall cup to avoid splashes.
5) Expect a 2-3 minute brew time. If you use paper filters, there should be few or no grounds splashed inside the machine, and limited dripping when the cup is done brewing.

Hope this helps someone out there skip those initial bad cups!

Great but it won't last longer than 2 weeks... - Winston Chueng - IL, USA
I bought this for my brother who drinks coffee everyday. he's always in a hurry so this product is good because it makes just one coffee and no need for filters, even better right? WRONG. the coffee maker's filtration decreases functionality after a while resulting in watered down taste. SKIP iT unless you want bad coffee.

With the introduction of the new insulated Chambord coffee press, Bodum has taken the iconic coffee maker and is reaching out, a second time, to rewrite history. Newly designed in double-wall glass technology, it keeps the brewed coffee hot and aromatic for nearly two hours. A highly sophisticated production process leads to this stunning thermo-effect. Wait 4-minutes and then press and enjoy a well balanced, flavorful cup of java. Experience the roast and the flavor profile that the coffee roaster intended with the press brewing system which is accepted worldwide as one of the best ways to brew coffee. No extra filter is needed as the 3-part stainless steel filter is built into the press brewing system. The Double Wall Chambord is made of chrome plated steel, heat-resistant borosilicate glass, plastic and non-slip rubber. The capacity is 1.0 liter/34-ounces, and serves about 2 to 3 people. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

great coffee, doesn't stay hot long, handle with care, the glass broke - Dirk "Duke" Richter - Connecticut, USA
Makes more flavorful coffee because the steel screen lets more coffee solids through. The grounds take up about an inch or so of usable space, limiting the number of cups. You will probablly get at most 2-4 American cups. Double glass walled press kept my coffee warm, not hot, for about an hour. If you have to have a coffee press, save yourself and get a regular model, as the insulating properties were unimpressive. Pretty easy to clean, but as I tapped the bottom with my hand to get the grounds out, the glass shattered and impaled my hand. I'm going to get a stainless press instead of replacing the glass. The double wall replacement glass costs from Bodum.

cheap parts - AverageJoe -
The thing-a-majig that directs the coffee from the basket to the pot is cheap and broke only after 2 times... and since it was at a cabin and not used much and about 6 months old, we couldn't find the receipt. The brew does not flow straight down from the basket into the pot (that is why you need the thing-a-majig to "deflect" the coffee into the pot), so....you need to order another basket which is about plus S&H. Not worth it!! Look at another one!

Planning on throwing this one away.... - B.F. - Minneapolis, MN
I've had this coffee maker for about a year or so and I hate to say, all the bad reviews are not just due to cranky over-critical customers. This coffee maker has many flaws. The first being, as many others have mentioned, the poor design which allows water to leak from an opening in the back of the coffee maker causing less water to be run through and more water to end up all over your kitchen counter. I've had to put a towel behind it every time I've used it. The second problem is, the spout on the decanter isn't curved enough to allow easy pouring when you're filling the coffee maker up, again, you'll end up with water all over your counter and I've resorted to filling it with a Pyrex cup instead. Those are some annoyances but one thing I've found that I don't know if others have experienced is, it brews a really weak, watered down cup of coffee even with the "strong" setting on!!! To the avid coffee lover and connoiseur like myself, this is probably the worst thing about it. I've tried running vinegar through it, differant filters, adding more coffee grounds and even grinding the beans to the consistency of espresso powder but I continue to end up with a watery, "gas station convenience store grade" cup of coffee. Not exactly the way to start your morning. The glass decanter breaks very easily too if you're not careful, one slight bump against the sink while you're cleaning it and it shatters, I've actually done it twice now and had to buy new ones. The only good thing about it is it looks nice and it's programmable, but I would not recommend it to anyone.

They need to recall this piece of junk - Bryan W. White -
My first mr. coffee (FTX41) I purchased leaked probably a third of the amount I poured in. I stupidly thought I could fix it, but you basically have to break the plastic shell to get in to see where it is leaking. I very stupidly bought the same model again thinking it was a random problem, but sure enough, my brand new model leaked right away. My in-laws have the same model and it drives them nuts with all of the leaking and problems with the carafe. Please do not buy this piece of junk. It will drive you nuts.
